Your site is very informative and has a good layout. My brother just started dirt track racing in street stock this year. I have started a website for him so that all our family that are unable to make it to the races can still see pictures and videos of his races. I have been searching for some good information on dirt track car setups, have not quite found anything i was looking for untill i came to your site. Thank you for the great info.

Started racing IMCA hobby stocks here in Abilene, TX. Saw your posting about tire pressures, and had a few questions. I'm running 205/75R15 on all four corners. I've got an '84 Monte Carlo, and it's really loose coming off the corners. It's pretty good coming in, but I can't hold it off the turns. I've been running about stock pressure, because I've had some problems with the right rear coming off the bead. Have you had any experience running these tires? What kind of pressures do you run? Would you run a tube to keep the tire on the bead? Thanks for the help!!

Hi Bill, thanks for the quick response earlier.Yes,all my tires are the same size,205/70/15,and they are actually on a 7" wheel.I'm brand new at this so I was surprised to learn of these air pressures,I didn't think a tire under 15 lbs. would stay on the rim thru the turns!! Any advice on what size coil springs to run on these cars?? I haven't looked, but i believe the car's old owner said he had a 800lb,fr. left and a 900lb. on the fr. right, not sure what's on the rear yet,any suggestions??thanks again,Shawn.

I am going to be racing in Hobby stocks,1/4 mile dirt oval for my first year.I have a '81 Monte Carlo, and from some time spent around the track last year,I found tire pressure is the world's biggest secret. This class is fairly stock,350's etc, with 8" dirt tires. The track is usually pretty greasy in the opening heat but packs pretty nice for heat 2 and the feature.Any GOOD advice as to an idea on tire pressure for this type of car on this type of track and tire???Much appreciated!!
